It seems as if Ryan never sleeps as he is on call 24/7. Whatever time of day or night, when Stanford faculty appear on radio or TV, chances are Ryan is behind the scenes. Over the past 15 years he has managed nearly 2500 (!) network feeds to all major broadcast networks including Fox, CNN, and NPR. He has personally worked with nearly every head of state or dignitary who visits our campus – from the Dalai Lama to Bill Gates. On top of that, he books crew and equipment for all of our productions and can often be found in the field himself in any role from director to audio engineer. He doesn’t even slow down when he finally takes a well-deserved vacation – each year he volunteers at an orphanage in Mexico where he has developed life-long relationships with the niños. With Ryan’s guidance they just may grow up to be guests in our studio!
